Together with the Urban Forests in Bratislava and the capital city, we revitalized the popular area with gazebos and the public spaces in their surroundings.

The Little Slavín area is a popular location in the Little Carpathians on the recreational route connecting Rača and Záhorská Bystrica. A single compact gazebo was created that retains the existing seating and dining capacity, but with a more efficient, larger roofed area on the same footprint. A new seating layout offers more flexible use of the space for multiple groups at the same time.

Architects from Bakyta architects designed a structure of thin columns that support a suspended wooden canopy, making the space lighter and safer with more open views. The gazebo does not hide the most important thing – the view directly into the forest and over the meadow.

This project is part of the Programme for the public space revitalization in Bratislava – Vivid Spaces. It is the first-ever framework for a systematic change of the public space of the capital on several levels. The scheme is implemented in cooperation with the capital city and the city districts.

In 2022, the project received the CE ZA AR prize for architecture in the Exterior category.
