Janko Kráľ Park
The oldest public park in Central Europe is awaiting revitalization.
The first interventions have already taken place in the Janko Kráľ Park and the adjacent Tyrš Waterfront to improve the condition of this public space. The furniture was replaced in the park, new flowers were added and new public toilets were opened, which had been missing for a long time.
At the same time, the MIB has prepared a plan for the revitalization of the surroundings of the Memorial to the Victims of Extremism. The famous nightclub in the Janko Kráľ Park, currently unused, is undergoing renovation.
User groups, actors, their needs, preferences, and opinions were mapped in the participatory process. Based on the results of the participation and other inputs, it was found that the public does not expect major interventions in the park. MIB is therefore preparing a specification for an urban-landscape study that will provide a comprehensive view of the area and its further development instead of a major architectural competition.
