Urban Spaces Development Section

Section coordinates the City's long-term and short-term architectural projects by covering the complex architectural project management process.

Coordination of individual municipal organizations or contractors and collaborators during the selection of the project, its preparatory phase, architectural design, implementation and partly also during operation is crucial to ensure that the requirements for quality, functionality and aesthetics of the solution are met. This process includes research, concept development, validation studies, the preparation of documents for the architectural competition, and last but not least, coordination during implementation.

The department also acts as a consultative and advisory body for the Municipality's departments, municipal districts or the private sector in matters of urban development. In the implementations covered by the department, the architects look at the city as a whole, but always take into account the specific, local needs of the individual districts.

In addition to architectural projects, the department ensures the development of uniform concepts and processes in the use of urban spaces, such as rules for the rental of urban spaces or the occupation of public spaces.

The long-term vision is that the department will also bring proposals for new projects selected based on its own research and evaluation of data from the urban environment.
