The Department of Green-Blue Infrastructure operates within the Spatial Planning Section, where it provides comprehensive expert support in the field of the urban environment and sustainable development. Our main objective is to build a green and climate-resilient city, introduce digital innovations, and provide an integrated overview of the relationship between greenery and water in the city. These outputs serve as a basis for strategic planning, the city\u2019s development documents, and the creation of an ecologically stable Bratislava.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In modern urbanism, green-blue infrastructure represents an intelligent interconnection of natural systems and technical innovations that ensure effective water retention in the landscape, actively mitigate the impacts of climate change, and support urban biodiversity in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The role of the department is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conceptual work and strategic regulation:<\/strong> Setting up systemic tools for green-blue infrastructure, with an emphasis on the functional interconnection of natural structures and the continuous improvement of the quality of public spaces and urban greenery in built-up areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate analyses and GIS modelling:<\/strong> Preparing expert spatial analyses and collecting data focused on simulating and mitigating the impacts of climate change. These outputs provide data-based inputs for the preparation of long-term development concepts and strategic plans for the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Methodology and design:<\/strong> Preparing methodological guidelines and design manuals for green-blue infrastructure elements. We formulate expert criteria and technical frameworks for the needs of the Spatial Planning Section and development projects in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Management of the outer landscape:<\/strong> Long-term strategic planning for the city\u2019s key natural and productive areas, such as vineyards, forest parks, agricultural land, and areas of high biodiversity value, with the aim of protecting their potential.<\/p>\n\n\n
