The public space in which we live significantly influences how we feel and live in the city. We want the public space to be functional, easy to maintain and inclusive for all groups of residents or visitors to the city.
The department aims to ensure that projects concerning public spaces are based on uniform principles and values so that their overall visual appearance is compact.
The Public Spaces Section, therefore, develops methodologies, principles and values for the development and renovation of public spaces. It systematically prepares so-called public space manuals for individual themes in the public space. The manuals are primarily intended for designers who apply these principles in their projects.
In addition to methodology development, we are continuously involved in the development of reference terms, tender conditions or evaluation criteria for projects that are currently being drafted and implemented in the public space, whether at the MIB or other public and private organisations.
